Boom 2 1.9.5 just plane does not work. I cannot get the logo in the top line my computer, or the different components I am to download. The older version was perfect. I am using OS 10.11.3. How do I download the older version?

I have downloaded the latest BOOM 2 and have no control over it. No equalizer, no volume slider, no way to turn it off or on. I am using El Capitan 10.11.3. Please advise. Kind Regards, Jimmy Leavens.
