• Above suggestion worked for me. Went to 44100hz from 96000hz on both input and output, and everything is now normal. Yay! Thanks.

• Fixed. Changed Midi setup format to 44100hz from 96000 hz on both input and output and it works just fine now.

• Similar issue here. Boom 2 static/scratchy on start up of any audio source. Toggle ambiance and fidelity to get it to once again become clear.

• Sorry for your trouble, but glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Can make you nutty, not to say worried as well about the state of your computer speakers.
