I've read the other posts in this vein and have followed the instructions for removing/re-installing Soundflower (which I've had on my system for a long time now, and successfully used with other applications), but still can't get a decent screen recording with sound..
I am trying to record sound from Cycling74's MaxMSP, with a voice-over
I am using an Alesis IO26 audio interface, which I select as input to Voila and I do see a level on the meter, corresponding to the microphone plugged into the IO26; the IO26 is selected as the audio device in MaxMSP.
I have also tried using Soundflower as the output device from Max and the input device for Voila; this does record the audio from Max, but I can't monitor it, only hearing anything when Voila is recording and even then it is horribly distorted. The sound in the resulting recordings also have a noticeable 'slapback' delay on them.
I also have to route the microphone through Max to get a voiceover, even though I have System sound recording checked, and the IO26 set as the System audio input device.
I was really hoping to be able to use Voila for this task, for which I have been using Snapz Pro,which records both Max's audio and the voiceover, but the files produced require conforming, as the frame rate is not correctly recognised in Final Cut Pro.

Regarding your query, we checked with the Voice over and Voila records the same without any issues. Basically Voila records sound through Sound flower (2ch), which is a third party app.
Once the recording starts and if 'Record Computer audio' is checked then Voila automatically switches the output device into Sound flower (2ch) from internal speakers.
You can manually open System Sound Preference and check for the same.
There may be some bug in the Sound flower volume slider, please move the volume slider of Sound flower a numerous time and then check whether you get same issue. Make sure that you test Sound flower through Voila itself.
While performing a screen recording, please do not switch sound output devices manually.
Also could you please provide us more info about the devices used? We would like to test with the same. You can provide the details with the sequence to regenerate the issue to our Support Team
I have an iMac using o/s Leopard and find the sound is fine whilst recording but non existent on playback. Can you help, please?
Thanks. Tom

Could you check whether "Soundflower" is listed in the system sound preferences? If yes, and still the audio is not able to be recorded then, could you please uninstall sound flower using the following uninstall command.
1) Open "Terminal" in Spotlight,
2) Copy "sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext/ " and paste it in terminal window and hit enter.
3) Make sure to check the system sound preference whether you still find sound flower (if yes then try again giving the same command)
4) Next quit and launch Voila. Go to record in Voila and select fullscreen record and select "Record computer audio" (check and uncheck Record computer audio), it will ask for sound flower installation. Install.
Also go to System Sound Preferences and change the volume bar in Sound flower (2ch)(refer screen shot).
Also make sure that you enable "Record Computer Audio" to record the computer sound.
You can do it in the window that appears just before the recording?

Thank you for the suggestions. We appreciate your help.
We have noticed the issue and our developers have been notified about the same.
