Had to quit Boom 2's latest update today. 2/24/2015. After I updated to Boom 2 1.1, all sound on my iMac muted. I had to quit Boom 2 in order to get any sound from my music or games.
I don't know if it could help, but on my mac pro late 14 using Boom sometimes Yosemite set the sound on internal speaker and everytime I have to set the line out.... maybe it's the same for you...
So far, you are the first one to report sound mute issue in the latest update. We can provide you with the troubleshooting steps. But we are eager to know what's going wrong. We are taking this at our highest priority and would like to resolve the issue at the earliest. In order to do so, we request you to have a Skype screen sharing session with us, so that we see what's going on and diagnose the issue. Your help is appreciated.

Hey, I though you guys were giving "Boom1" purchasers a 50% discount code? I have emailed at the required email address and I have not received a response. What's the situation here? You guys have disabled comments, can't get a hold of anyone, it just seems like Global Delight doesn't care about anyone beyond the purchase point. Once you buy, good-bye! I am using an app that is not as you guys say "Working Great." Boom 1 crashes, sound in, sound out, on occasion it will even make a loud squelching sort of sound and if I have the volume way up, it's super unpleasant. Discount? Yes, no, what's the situation? Although from the reads above, it looks like "Boom 2" is having issues too
My name is Guru and I'm with Global Delight monitoring the release and post release activities of our apps. With respect to your not receiving a response to 50% upgrade mail, I apologize for the delay. Usually we respond to all the queries within 2 business days, however, we try to respond to all queries much earlier than that. We are actively looking into Boom 1.9.3 reported issues and there will be a Boom v1.9.4 coming out once we are ready with the fix and verified that the fix has solved the issue. Boom 2's latest release v1.1 takes care of audio mute issue. We are working with several great customers like you to find a fix for the issues reported that we can not regenerate at our test labs.
Hi @dougsherk: It would be great to give us some more details like the OS X version, Boom's version, any regenerating sequence etc. Thank you.
Thought id jump on this thread since it is monitored. Got the latest Boom2 app and using it with an iMac late 2013 27inch with a Meridian Explorer DAC. The audio will play for maybe 20 minutes before it starts to crackle and slowly fade out into nothing. Selecting the output device in system preferences refreshes it and audio comes back .Not doing anything except a simple EQ change. No volume boost.
No excessive cpu usage or crash reports. Occurs randomly but frequently.
I too have experienced the "no sound" bug since the latest Boom 2 update.
Setup: iMac 27" late 2013, with B&W MM-1 speakers.
With the B&W MM-1 speakers plugged in, turned on and selected as output, when I start playing music or a youtube video, sometimes there is no sound at all. Turning off the MM-1 speakers, I got sound back through the iMac's internal speakers. Turning the MM-1 speakers back on, I then got sound through the MM-1s, as expected.
This didn't happen before the last update (I did have the crash-after-wakeup before, but this was fixed by the update) and it also didn't happen before I had Boom installed.
Does the Meridian Explorer DAC have additional sound output device installed? If so, could you please check if you get the same issue via iMac's internal speakers? We suggest you to contact our Support Team (boom2@globaldelight.com) as there is a test build available. You can install the same and check if it helps.
@jrautula, Could you please contact our Support Team (boom2@globaldelight.com) with your system info, OS details and crash logs if available for further help.

I'm having the same issue, every now and then I loose the sound in my computer, but there is no way to get it back unless I restart the computer. You say you have an update but how do I install it if I bought Boom2 through the AppStore?
Mac App Store version of Boom has been submitted to Apple for review purpose. Once done, we will release the same. Next time when the sound is mute, you can try turning Boom ON/OFF and check if it helps.
