Previous version of Boom installed prior to OSX Mavericks upgrade, remained in place after upgrade and worked perfectly.
App store pushed the update to boom 1.8 this morning, and now the boom audio device is listed in the audio devices control panel but no options available and system audio does not appear on the boom application. Boom volume slider not available on menu bar, right click and left click on the menu bar icon both invoke the boom main application.
additionally, system volume control is not changing audio volume, so the boom device presumably does have control.
Attempted an uninstall then reinstall via app store, same results. Please advise.
thank you,

We have sent you a zip file, please instal and let us know if it helps.
Mac App Store users facing issues with volume boosting, please follow these simple steps and update the audio component:
-> Open Boom's main interface and click on the 'Know More - Mac Volume'
tab given on the bottom.
-> Click on the 'Know More' button. This takes you to a page containing
the latest audio component.
-> Download the appropriate file and install it. This enables the
system-wide volume booster feature.
->Once the installation completes, click on 'Done' in Boom window.
