Storing recorded screencasts

I am participating in a webseminar which has a few dozen screencasts, and I want to record them so I can watch them later again. But these recordings get huge (minimum time of a screencast is 60min.), so I want to save these screencast-recordings to an extern hard disc. Does anybody know if this is possible, without changing the location indicated in the preferences (where all other clippings etc go)?
I asked this question directly at tech support a week ago, haven't seen an answer yet :-(

Or is it possible to locate the different files on the HD (I only see a "library-file"), or is it possible to watch the screencast in another program than Voila?

OK, I 'll answer that last question myself: I can export the screencast as a quicktime movie!

I was going to say the same thing. You export it and then you can re-save the file for web viewing and it drops the file size substantially.

Hi Herman,

You can create a new Library in the external hard drive or move your existing library to the external hard drive and save all the videos to it. You can change the path of your library in the 'Preferences'.

Now I have another problem, but possibly not Voilà-related...:
when I play the recorded screencast in Voilà, all is well, sound plays. But when I export to a QuickTime-movie, the sound has dissappeared! Not helpfull for a seminar!
The menu item says: "export video using quicktime", but does this imply that only image is exported, and sound not? Or must I make adjustments elsewhere?

Ideally the sound is exported along with the video. Could you try exporting it again? Or you could try dragging the video out into your desktop and check the sound.

Exporting would take again a few hours before completing; so I dragged the video to the desktop (where is that user's guide that teaches us all of these features?) and then it plays with sound - even better sound than when played from within Voilà. So I am happy with that!
