Boom 2 seems to be not working on my machine

I'm currently using Boom 2 v1.4.1 on a Macbook Pro 2015 on 10.11.5. Looking at my sound preference pane, I have output set to Boom2Device. When I adjust the volume slider on Boom2 menu item up or down I would expect to hear the volume on my computer to get louder or softer depending on if I'm sliding the slider up or down. The volume seems to stay the same. Am I missing something? Is there a way to determine if the application is working correctly? Do you have steps for me to follow to reinstall the application. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Could you please let us know whether the app was purchased via Mac App Store or Web Store?

    Also, could you please uninstall Boom 2 within the app (refer the screenshot) and re-install it again via purchase point. Hope it helps.
