Boom won't open

edited May 2013 in Suggestions
Just bought and installed boom 1.7 on my iMac. It seemed to install fine but when I went to open it nothing happens. I click the boom icon and it doesn't jump or open. I tried to move it to the trash but it says it cant be trashed because its still open. i then tried to force quit it but it doesn't appear in the force quit options. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have Mac OS X 10.6.8

  • Hi there,

Regarding your query, when you open Boom by clicking on Boom app in Application folder, do you see Boom icon in menu bar (top right corner of the screen)?
Please do not trash the app. You have an uninstall option within the app via Settings->Preference->Uninstall.
You can force quit Boom via 'Activity Monitor'.
Could you please force quit Boom app via 'Activity Monitor' and try launching the same and check if it helps.
Is your menu bar crowded? If yes, then move some items and launch Boom.
If you still have any issues, then please contact our Support Team.
  • Same issue here, I just bought the app from app store, in the first time it worked without any problems, but now I tried to open it and boom doesn't launch.
I can see the process Boom and BoomDaemon at activity monitor. If I kill those process and try to launch boom again, the process appear again at activity monitor, but the interface for boom doesn't comes up.

    Any idea?
  • I downloaded the Boom Audio Component but it will not install.

  • I can confirm this is also happening to me. I've removed heaps from the top right menu and it still doesn't appear. I just downloaded a new copy of BOOM from your website and its not working. If you click on the app in the applications folder it does nothing. I've checked in activity monitor and Boom does show up, but thats the only evidence that the application is running. It does not launch a small icon at the top menu and it does not appear in the "Force Quit" menu. I really wanted to purchase this after testing the demo, but it seems its not working at all.
  • Hi Anthony,
