Boom 2 for mac does not work properly (El Capitan)

Hey,

I've bought Boom 2 for mac today and after a few hours to the test I must say it does not work properly. After a few minutes - whether I hear apple music or l look a streaming movie - I get the same result: Boom produces audio dropouts and the sound gets stuck. The only way out is quitting boom. (Boom 2, iMac late 2013 with OS X 10.11.1)

Is there any way to resolve this problems?

  • I have the same problem. Turning off equalizer and back on again, problem fixes.

    Hello there,

    This happens when the sample rates under Audio MIDI setup in System Preferences are set to unequal rates. Please make all the sample rates uniform throughout (Input and Output) for all devices and this should stop your issue. Thanks.
  • I have downloaded the latest BOOM 2 and have no control over it. No equalizer, no volume slider, no way to turn it off or on. I am using El Capitan 10.11.3. Please advise. Kind Regards, Jimmy Leavens.

    @irgrip53 ;

    I am getting the same problem. I have had this product since Boom1, I love it, but recently the app does not seem to launch. I cannot access any of the UI, it is not in the toolbar or anywhere. I do not believe this is just a problem with Boom, another one of my apps, Window Tidy, seemed to have stopped working as well. I wonder if this was caused by the latest El Capitan update.
  • I too had the same problem, with the addition of a large black box on my desktop which did nothing and could not be removed. I had to remove Boom 2 (with much difficulty )  and now do not have it's obvious advantages. Hope someone has or will have a fix.
  • I am having the same issues on a new MB Pro running El Capitan.  I click the Boom 2 icon and it opens the general preferences window.  But, that is all.  No EQ, no controls, no nothing.
  • Hi,

    Have you purchased Boom 2 via Mac App Store?

    For Mac App Store users, you need to select Volume boost option (first option) from the side panel. Here, if you click on the 'Learn More' tab don't you get an option to Download an audio component ? If yes, please click on it and it will launch a web-browser with an option to download and install the audio component.

    Please install the component and you can see the EQ and volume boosting functionality.
  • I'm having the same issues. I updated my system to El Cap. Now I can't use BOOM 2 and it will not authorize or recognize the system. Though other systems do via the App Store, iTunes, etc. This needs to be corrected or at least acknowledged as a global issue.
  • Is this a global issue? The program is no longer recognized by my system.
