Default output device

Boom seams to change the default output device depending on what is connected, for example, if I connect an external screen that has audio output it auto-select that output, that's very annoying because anytime I connect the screen I have to go to the System Preferences > Sound > Output and select "Headphones", then Boom is auto-selected itself) as output.

But, Anyway to lock the default output that Boom has to use?
Basically I don't want to use the screen output or whatever interface I connect to the computer.

Is there any movement on this topic, I've seen other post from Feb this year.  How can we get Boom to play through internal speakers when an external monitor is plugged in using HDMI?
