Each time I restart my macbook Boom opens with the helper but doesn't generally boost the volume unless I re-install it every time which is a pain

    Hey,

The issue is after the latest OS X update El Capitan. Our development team have already provided a fix to this issue and the app is under review process on the App Store. Once the latest version of the app gets approved on the App Store, the update will be available to you. And this update will be the final update to Boom 1x app and will be supported until mid 2016.

If you are on OS X Yosemite and later, I suggest you to check out our new app Boom 2 (www.globaldelight.com/boom) Also, for current Boom 1x users we have enabled a 50% discount upgrade to Boom 2 via our store. For more information contact our Support Team (boom2@globaldelight.com)

  • Using Boom2 v 1.3 and El Capitan v 10.11.1  Boom not giving consistent audio. Sometimes seems to work as intended, other times yields very low volume that cannot be increased, then other times no audio at all , requiring me to turn Boom off and select normal internal speaker output. Appears to be no specific reason or regularity to these various conditions.
  • This same issue is happening to me, even after I upgraded to v1.95.  I tried deleting Boom and reinstalling it from the AppStore, which didn't fix the problem.  Please fix this.  Boom is unusable on El Capitan.

And no, the solution is not to upgrade to Boom2.  I already paid for Boom.
  • @ggenaw - Hello there. This usually occurs when the sample rate isn't set to 44100 Hz under the Audio MIDI Setup in System Preferences.

    @
Keith - Have you installed the audio component one more time after the update to v1.9.5? You'll need to do this just one more time and it should then work properly.
  • I'm having the same problem where the volume suddenly gets very low. It's only been happening the past few days, and happens as soon as any option is enabled in Boom (Boost, EQ, Fidelity, etc).

I'm using  Boom 2 v 1.3 and OS X 10.11.1. I verified the current output device is set to 44.1kHz, and I uninstalled, rebooted, and re-installed boom from the website.
  • Same problem with the volume going to almost nothing as soon as any options are enabled in Boom (Boost,  EQ, Fidelity, etc.)

    Boom 2 v 1.3, OS X 10.11.1. Verified 44100Hz, and removed, rebooted, and reinstalled.
  • Ignore my duplicate post.
