Boom killed my TwelveSouth BassJump!

edited March 2013 in Boom Discussions
Beyond frustrated :-( Day two of my Boom trial, and when I get to the office and hook up my MacBook and turn on my BassJump, it makes a loud pop and now doesn't emit any sound. Software/equalizer still functions, so pretty sure it's a hardware issue. Have uninstalled Boom, uninstalled/reinstalled BassJump. After reading some of the admin comments on the board, I don't except any help from Global, but other BassJump users — TAKE THIS AS A WARNING!

  • Hi there,

Regarding your query, could you please check System Sound Preference and let us know the sound output devices listed? Does BassJump use any kext driver as Boom (BoomDevice) does? Boom switches automatically by itself when any audio output device is connected or removed from the system. Ideally when Boom is active, BoomDevice would be selected. It also depend on which external Output is being used. If you have been using internal speakers then click on the internal speakers or if any other external device like speakers, headphones (if Boom is active then the selection reverts to BoomDevice, this is normal), now play any audio file on your system and check if you can hear the boosted sound.

    Note :
Boom has compatibility issues with Bluetooth headsets/speakers.
