What is Boom doing to my inputs?

edited October 2012 in Boom Discussions
I rely on my MBP line input to bring timecode and audio in to my machine for work. Now, all of my applications show a "boom device" on the input select pane but I cannot get any software to "hear" any of the inputs. I can still see audio bouncing in the sound preferences pane but none of the software can actually access that sound.

I really like what boom does on all of my playback but unless there is a work around for what it is doing to my inputs I may have to junk it. Any thoughts on how to make this work while keeping boom installed?

  • Hey,

Boom boosts the overall sound of your system.
Boom can be used only as an output device and not as input.
Usually in the input pane, Boom will be is disabled state, not sure how it shows up the audio bouncing in sound preference in disabled state.

You can always select the desired input devices where Boom will never interfere with other input devices.
