Hey folks,
Just wanted to report that after using Boom one of my speakers on my MBA no longer works. Looks like it's going to cost me over $100 to have Apple replace the speaker.

I really think there should be a warning about this from Global Delight.

Thank you for reaching out to Global Delight Support Team. After your report and once again, Boom has been tested extensively under intense/extreme loud volume conditions in different scenarios imaginable on more than 3 dozen kinds of Macs, the maximum available hardware configurations at our facility. We have not encountered the situation explained and faced by you. Our team has more than 12 years of experience developing software on Mac and they have experienced issues with Mac speakers even before developing Boom. So speakers going bad or not working could be due to defective hardware. We do advise users to play audio at certain audible levels only so that excessively loud volume do not harm ears. Boom does limit the loud volume output depending on hardware type without compromising the sound quality. We have given visual cues on the UI when these limits are reached. Hardware can go bad for many reasons. Our tests have shown that Boom does not have a role in those failures.
