Hi, So Ive removed boom2 after the trial expired, using the apps uninstall button. Ive checked in S/L/E to ensure there are no Boom extensions, which there are not. My sound is very distorted, how do I fix this please?
Boom works independently from the OS. It provides a driver in your System Sound Preference known as BoomDevice. Once Boom is quit or uninstalled from the system then it has nothing to do with the system sound. We just searched in Apple forums and it seems that you might have to do a PRAM reset. Before doing so, please uninstall Boom within the app via Settings->Preferences->Uninstall.
Please try resetting PRAM and check if it helps.
Please follow the steps provided in the below link:
Users are always advised not to keep their speaker volumes excessively high even otherwise.
You might also want to know that we have put the application under intense testing in different scenarios and we have not been able to see any possible damage to the speakers.
Same exact issue here. I've installed an installed Boom 2 and am left with a "hot" sounding audio output, making everything distorted. I've put in a support ticket (twice) and had already done everything that was suggested and have spoken with Apple and reset my NVRAM, SMC, run diagnostics, tried Safe mode and reinstalled the OS. No issue before installing Boom 2, so it's definitely messing up some settings regardless of what is said. Going to the Apple Store tomorrow to see if they can help.
