Boom 1.5 installation don't start in Mountain Lion

edited August 2012 in Boom Discussions
I have the MAS Version of Boom. After a fresh installation of Mountain Lion Boom doesn't work. After the first start nothing happened. I can't see no process of boom in the task manager if I start the program.
Have somebody the same problem?

  • @Murbig,

As you are unable to access Boom from menu bar, please remove Boom manually by following the below instructions and reinstall a fresh copy of Boom.

Could you please check for BoomDevice.kext in the following path System/Library/Extensions (refer screen shot), if present delete it and also delete Boom app, now ensure that BoomDevice has been removed from System Sound Preference (under output). Next restart the system.

    Or

Please enter the following sudo command in "Terminal" (search for Terminal in Spotlight).

    1. Open Terminal
    2. Enter the command
    sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/BoomDevice.kext/
    3. Ensure that BoomDevice has been removed from System Sound Preference, If not run the command again
    4. Delete Boom app

Next, make a fresh install of Boom.

As you have purchased Boom from Mac App Store, please re-install from App Store itself. Make sure that you use the same account which was used on purchase.
