Boom 1 - long time user - having problems since last update

edited March 2015 in Boom Discussions
When I have been using the internal speakers, or another headset, and I plug in a different pair. The audio goes away. Like TOTALLY away, can't play anything, even if I then unplug the speakers, until I kill boom, and select Internal speakers, or plug in headphones. Why is this?

  • Hi Ahndymac,

We tried the sequence mentioned by you and it seems to work fine on our end. Could you please provide us more info about the headsets? You can open your System Preferences Sound output and see the switching of devices when any new device is connected or removed.
  • Yes, I can see that, but when Boom is enabled, it always tries to steal the focus back to itself. I'm on Yosemite, 10.10.2. I'm using a standard Iphone headset
  • Hi Ahndymac,

That is the feature of Boom, it switches automatically by itself when any audio output device is connected or removed from the system. We tried with iPhone headset and USB Logitech headset, it works fine on our end. Could you please let us know which is the 'different pair' you are mentioning from your first post? Is the issue consistent? If possible, could you share a screen-recording of the issue?
  • A screen recording is not going to help, as it looks correct onscreen. However, this appears to be working now. . .so it may have solved itself.
  • That's great!
