Remove Boom 1 from the audio menu

edited February 2015 in Boom Discussions
I'd like to totally get rid of Boom 1, I used the trial of it for some time but now I'll want to buy Boom 2. When I used boom 2, boom 1 still was available in the system's sound menu (top right corner).
Now both boom 1 and boom 2 are uninstalled but I still see the "boom device" at the sound devices, see here:

I'm looking for some help to remove this it's pretty annoying, then I'll buy Boom 2.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Sallaidani,

You can uninstall Boom completely within the app itself via Settings->Preferences->Uninstall. We suggest you to download trial copy of Boom via our website www.globaldelight.com/boom-1/ and uninstall the same within the app and check if it helps.
  • The Uninstall option does not appear in Preferences in my version of Boom (1.9.3).
  • Hi Robert,

Could you please provide us with a screenshot of the Boom Preferences?

The Uninstall option does not appear in Preferences in my version of Boom 1.9.3

    screenshot below

I'm using yosemite - upgraded from mountain lion --

I tried the mavericks uninstaller here http://www.globaldelight.com/boom/download/installers/mavericks/uninstall-boom-device.html

It did work and took out boom from preferences>sounds>output

But each time i restart the machine it comes back

    thanks

    UPDATE:

I have succeeded now -- Like this

Make sure you first quit boom in activity monitor,

    Then run the uninstaller

    http://www.globaldelight.com/boom/download/installers/mavericks/uninstall-boom-device.html

Although for mavericks it does run for yosemite

then drag the app from applications to trash (i have apptrap running so it gets registry files too)....but if you dont use apptrap then delete files manually like this:-

then "User/library/preferences/com.globaldelight.Boom.plist now, search for any Boom related components via Finder and delete"

Restart machine - then check preferences>sounds>output and make sure its not showing boom
  • That's great! Thank you for updating.
