I just downloaded Boom and I couldn't figure out how to make it work for my general computer so I watched some youtube videos. In the videos, when they clicked on the boom icon on top of the screen a volume slider appeared (this does not appear for me). When they clicked the button at the bottom of the volume slider the equalizer appeared (since I have no volume slider I don't have this button, can't find the equalizer). I also noticed in the video that when the boom window is open they have 2 buttons on the bottom left of the window: "Mac Volume" and "Boost File." I only have the "Boost File" button and no button for "Mac Volume" which seems to be where I can access the equalizer and general volume etc. Can anyone help me figure out what is going on?

Have you purchased Boom via Mac App Store?
For Mac App Store users, you need to select Volume boost option (first option) from the side panel (please refer screenshot). Here, if you click on the 'Know More' tab don't you get an option to Download an audio component option like the one shown in this screenshot? If yes, please click on it and it will launch a web-browser with an option to download and install the audio component.
Please install the component and you can see the EQ and volume boosting functionality.
As you have purchased Boom v1.x. Please refer below link to know how to download audio component for the same.
