As noted in the previous thread, I have the same problem with the sound balance reverting to the left channel whenever I connect my laptop to my speakers, headphones or earpods. No matter how many times I correct this, the process repeats itself every time - this problem started after getting Boom 2. I'm also on a MBP.
Furthermore, if I disconnect the external device by unplugging them whether they are my speakers, headphones or earpods my laptop does not play any sound at all until I manually restart the Boom 2 application. I didn't have any of these problems with the first Boom application and it's a bit of a hassle.

We have noted down the issue of balance reverting to one side, our development team will be looking into it.
Please note that in the latest version of Boom, particularly in OS Yosemite, automatic switching of output device is seen in System Sound Preferences while inserting Headphones. Hence resulting in no audio from the system.
We have noted down the issue and we have come to a conclusion that the issue is on OS end and we have already raised a ticket to Apple. To bring back the system audio, you need to manually select active sound output device via System Preferences->Sound.
