Sound Delay and Strange Behavior

edited December 2014 in Boom Discussions
After upgrading to Boom 2, sound is slightly delayed. Not an issue when playing an audio only, but it's completely unusable with video, where it should be tightly synchronized. When I switch to other output devices, it works just fine, so it must be Boom issue.

Also it is very strange that Boom 'hijacks' my settings – whenever I manually switch output device, Boom switches it back. Not cool at all.

I bought Boom2, But after sound was slightly delayed, I switched off Boom2.
PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!
  • Hi jozefbenko and junsucc_lee:

Please get in touch with boom2@globaldelight.com and help us out regenerate the audio/video sync issue. Thank you.
  • I recently purchased Boom 2 and am experiencing the same issue.
My setup: I run iTunes or Spotify through Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil which then distributes the audio to the various Airplay output devices throughout my house as well as through my MacBook Pro speakers.  With Boom 2 enabled on my MacBook Pro, there's a slight (but very noticeable) delay between my MacBook speakers and the Airplay speakers.  With Boom 2 disabled, the delay is not present.
  • Hey,

Could you please let us know which system are you using and OS X installed on it? Could you please let us know the audio source?

Also, do check with different media players and let us know whether the issue is consistent.

If you could provide us with a sequence to regenerate the issue, that would be great.

At the same time, please keep your Console app open, do check for Boom logs when the issue reappears and send it to our Support Team (boom2@globaldelight.com).
