Boom not working on OS yosemite

edited December 2014 in Boom Discussions
Hi Admin

I just purchased Boom 1.9.2 for my macbook pro retina - OS Yosemite. However it is not working at all. Now i have two options in sound menu. One - internal speakers and other boom device. When i select boom device my headphone port and speakers go silent...in short...boom not working for me. When i put the boom volume slider off, only then i can hear the normal volume, if it is on I can't. By the way, boom is my first purchase of a software online , please make it a good experience by providing me a solution to the problem.

Please HELP

  • Hi
I'm having a problem with Boom 2. Occasionally commands to iTunes (e.g. advance to next song, stop playing) have a delay of about 2-3 seconds. The problem is solved by quitting Boom and restarting it. Otherwise Boom seems to work fine.
I'm using an iMac 27" retina with fully updated OS Yosemite, Boom2 etc.
Can someone fix this irritating problem?
  • Hi RevereThomson,

We have released an update for Boom 2 v1.1.2 a few hours back. We suggest you to update your copy of Boom 2 to the latest version and check if it helps.
  • just upgraded system to Yosemite 10.10.3 and now Boom 2 v.1.1.2 won't open.
    Any suggestions.
  • Hi Rongural,

We suggest you to get in touch with our Support Team (boom2@globaldelight.com) with the Console logs that appear at the time of issue (i.e. when trying to open Boom 2).
  • Hi admin i am having the same problem as Pratik_4P, i have emailed all the screenshots and details of my mac to your support team but i haven't received any reply from them. Its been almost a week now. Would you be able to tell us what the problem is and how long will you guys take to fix as it is getting annoying now. No one wants to be suffering from that kind of problem specially after paying for the software. Reply would be much appreciated thank you.
  • Hi Um_jay,

Pratik_4P has mentioned that he is trying to select BoomDevice manually via System Preferences Sound. It is not advised to do so. We suggest you to operate Boom within the app window itself. Only when a external sound output device is selected, you need to select the same, make sure Boom is active. (If Boom is active then the selection reverts to BoomDevice, this is normal).
Also, there was a minor bug about sound muting while connecting headphones in Boom v1.9.2, which has been fixed. We suggest you to update your copy of Boom to the latest version and check if it helps.
  • Hi sorry for the confusion, but the problem that i am exactly facing and is still not resolved by any of your support team is, there is no sound coming out of mac while boom is running nonetheless of having it on external speakers or internal. As soon as i turnoff boom sound comes back. I have the updated version of boom2 which is, 1.1.2. I am running OS X yosemite 10.10.3. I would really appreciate if you could help me out with the issue. "jitendersingh@outlook.com" is my email address if you need any further details. Thanks for your time. Much appreciated.
