When you click on Boom app via Application, do you see Boom icon launch in your menu bar (top right corner)? - Have you downloaded Boom via Mac App Store or some other source? - You could check the Sound preferences (System preferences > Sound) to ensure that 'BoomDevice' is listed under 'Output' tab. - Launch the 'Activity Monitor' and ensure that Boom is listed under the processes when it is running. - Could you tell us the system OS - Could you uncheck the "Play stereo audio as mono" in system preference(Hearing in Universal Access) - Is your menu bar crowded? If yes, then move some items and launch Boom.
