A group of 3-4 use Google Hangouts. We're trying to figure out why there's such an echo and squeal. Could I be the problem with Boom. How do I turn it off?...just quit?
If the frequency is high (that is above normal) then there is a chance of the echoing produced while using Skype/FaceTime/Hangouts. As Boom boosts the output volume, the frequency will turn high. Thanks for reporting and we will keep an eye on this issue. We suggest you to adjust the volume to the appropriate level so that you do not harm you ears. We have provided an option to quit Boom within the app.
