  • Can you add ability capture QuickLook window in Finder. Some times I need fas capture pic from QuickLook but Voila can do this.
  • Hi Pem

We are looking into this and include this in one our updates.

    Team Voila
  • 1. Auto-completion of tags

    2. Some way to view all tags like tag cloud or tag listing

    3. +1 for Mailplane support. I never open Mail if I can help it. Mailplane is the best.

    4. Support for SFTP
  • Hi Robin

Thanks for listing your requirements here. Couple of them are already in our list, however we would investigate on the Mailplane support.

Feel free to write your other requirements, suggestions or feedback here.

    Thanks

  • 1. Ability to set up more than one FTP account. I have multiple websites where I upload screenshots.

    2. Ability set the path or folder/directory where the screenshots are uploaded. I can set up specific FTP accounts for each folder, but it would be easier to add the folder in Voila, e.g., /public_html/screenshots

    3. MobileMe support.

    Thanks.
  • I love this product. As several other forum users have stated it's the closest thing to Snag-It for Mac. I want to add my votes to the following wish list items:

1 - Menu Only Option - The icon on the dock is not useful for a largely background application that I use in my workflow throughout the day. For a dock that is loaded with icons, every slot counts.

2 - Multiple FTP account access with root folder capability.

3 - The ability to create bitmaps and use them as custom stamps. Even if there are only a few custom stamp slots (for example Custom1, Custom 2, Custom3). The ability to assign bitmaps to those slots would be fantastic.

Other than those enhancements, this product scores very high marks !!

    Thanks.
  • Hi Robin,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

We have these features under consideration. Please keep posting more feedback to improve the features in Voila.

  • Hi trinchet,

We had initially provided in the menu only option in Voila but due to some issues we had to remove this. We will think on how we can accomplish this.

We have the feature to provide support for multiple accounts under consideration.

Adding custom stamps is a very good suggestion. We would look into this.

  • 1. Take a look at FullShot from http://www.inbit.com . I used this program for 8 years while using Windows and thought it was/is great.

    2. Family pack pricing would be much appreciated.
  • Hello devbarnes

Thanks for the suggestion. We would be coming out with bundle packs soon.

  • +1 on the suggestion of adding a scaling feature to Voila. I would to automatically downsample the captured screenshot to 25%, 50%, and 75% of its native size. A plus would be to have scaling to arbitrary values, e.g., 37%)

I also to be able to easily “erase” parts of a screenshot with an Eraser Tool.
  • Copy and paste.

This should have been nearly the first feature.

For a screen capture tool with soooo many cool features, I can't even believe that you can't simply quickly copy a snap and paste it into another application.

You really need to add this feature in today, upload a new build tomorrow.
  • I need to be able to specify the size (vertical and horizontal pixels) of my capture rectangle. Many times have to fit an image into a "slot" in a website and find this feature in SnapZ to be very useful.
  • Hi kurts,

Thank you very much for the feedback.

We feel both these are very good suggestions. We have these features under consideration.

    Regards,
    Team Voila
  • Hi joelande,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

We have this feature in mind. We would be improving upon the features in Voila one by one and this is one of the things that we have in mind.

    Hi davebarnes,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

This is a very good suggestion. We will consider this.

We are also glad to inform you that we have introduced a Family pack. 5 license pack is priced at $149.75.

    Regards,
    Team Voila
  • $150 USD is way too expensive. You are charging an uplift of 275%.

Look at Apple's pricing: $130 for Mac OS X and $200 for family pack. Or an uplift of 54%.
Look at Agile Solutions' pricing for 1password: $40 and $70 or an uplift of 75%.
Look at Objective Development's pricing for Little Snitch: $30 and $60 or 100%.
    Look at AppZapper's pricing: $13 and $18 or 38%.
Look at HappApps' pricing for Webnote: $25 and $30 or 20%.
Look at Cultured Code's Things pricing: $50 and $75 or 50%.
  • Hello davebarnes

Thanks for pointing out. We had bundle back prices initially and now corrected.

The Voila Family Pack of 5 licenses are available for just $63.95, that's just an uplift of 60%..

We are working on upgrading the existing single user license to the Family Packs as well and happen quite soon.

    Keep sending the feedback.

    Thanks

  • When I select more than one pic always is publishing only one (first selected). Can you fix it?
And second suggestion. In Help menu you can add access to this Forum.
  • Hi Pem

It is possible to upload or publish multiple images to Flickr or FTP within Voila. You need to first select the images from the capture tray and then select the appropriate publishing option.

Within the Help menu of Voila, we have a 'Contact Us' tab and you will find the link to this Forum.

    Thanks

  • Hi

As I understand it is possible to drag a picture to de desktop. I would like to be able to drag the picture to other applications (example Pages, Omngraffle) as well as in Skitch.

  • Hello jakkke

Thanks for requesting this feature. We will work on supporting drag and drop to other applications.

  • Hi,
I just purchased Voila as part of the mupromo bundle. I also use LittleSnapper that Voila is very similar too. The thing that makes it hard for me to use either Little Snapper or Voila is the lack of a collection sharing feature. Sure I can upload images to flikr or an ftp site with either but what use is the image on its own without the organizational structure that is most of the point of both these apps. I have a small studio - just my partner and I and we have three computers + a laptop. What i really really need is a way to share a collection across these computers so that when I add an image to one it updates on the others. Not much use to me till then!
  • I received Voila through MacUpdate. It looks very nice, but I would never have heard of it otherwise...

I've just finished ripping my entire CD collection in iTunes and am busily adding cover art from Amazon and Google searches. Voila would be great for this if it had two features:

    1. Drag-and-drop to iTunes, I gather you're working on that.

    2. Auto-crop. On Amazon, the highest-resolution version of cover art ("see larger image") is usually a standard-size JPEG, but if the highest available resolution is smaller, the actual image is surrounded by a white border.

I'd like to propose an "auto-crop" mode that can be turned on or off. When active, it would automatically crop any captured image to the smallest rectangle possible that only involves removing white (or, in the case of a GIF/PNG, transparent) pixels.

This would probably be useful for many other applications besides CD cover art. :-)

  • Hello tiger and ferebee

Thanks for the suggestions. We will add these suggestions and features in our discussion list and see how we can improve on these aspects.

    Thanks

  • I just "accidentally" found the Timed Capture. It was listed as #8 in the help file and not linked, so I assumed it was in the works and was not yet available. When I tried the Object capture, lo and behold, there was the Timed Capture as an option for that.

Am I the only one who didn't know there was a Timed Capture? It would sure be nice if the Timed Capture was available by itself, and not as a part of Object. I don't always want to have to capture the entire screen on a Timed Capture. It would be nice to do a Timed Capture with Selection and add some shortcut keys for it.

Also, I have tried adding a shortcut in System Preferences to Snap current Safari URL, but nothing works, no combination. It would be nice if we could add our own shortcuts to any menu items from within Voila, not just the four that are in there.
  • Hello Robin S

    Thanks for your comments.

Voila doesn't have a separate Timed Capture mode, so you'll find it under the 'Notes' of Object and Selection capture modes.

You can find the Timed Capture option even with the various 'Selection' capture modes.

We would definitely consider a shortcut for snapping the Safari URL.

    Keep sending the feedback.

  • I would like to have a slider control for the size of the thumbnails when organizing all my images. Sometimes they are just too small to see and I would like to make them bigger so I can see what the shot is without having to open it for editing.

Also, the ability to tag multiple items at once. When I select multiple images and add a tag, it only adds it to one of the images.

I hope the auto-completion of tags is coming soon, too.
  • Hello Robin S

We have got quite a number of feedback for resizing the thumbnails, adding tags to multiple selections and auto-completion of tags as well. We would definitely consider all of them.

Thanks for your time and providing us some nice feedback.

    Regards
    Team Voila
  • It would be great to have one additional option to specify a path when publishing via FTP.
